Riya joined the United States Navy in March 2021, bringing dedication and skill to her role as a non-commissioned officer in the rating of Hospital Corpsman with a NEC of Dental Hygienist. Her exemplary service includes two years aboard the nuclear aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN-73), a floating city at sea with more than 4500 sailors and marines for whom she provided care. As a Hospital Corpsman in this operational setting, Riya was responsible for delivering comprehensive medical and dental care, emergency medical response, preventive health measures, and maintaining the overall health readiness of the crew. Currently stationed at a Naval Hospital in Virginia, Riya continues to contribute to the health and well-being of her fellow service members.
In February 2024, Riya earned her bachelor’s degree in Applied Health Science, marking a significant academic achievement. She now aims to further her education by pursuing a master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies (M.P.A.S) through the Navy, with the goal of commissioning and continuing her service to the country and her fellow sailors. Riya’s commitment to both her professional and academic endeavors exemplifies her dedication to excellence and service.

Stay committed to your vision and don’t fear setbacks. Success in the Navy doesn’t require perfection but perseverance. Many paths can lead to your goals; the true measure of your journey is your determination to keep going despite challenges. Keep pushing forward, and you’ll reach your destination.
