In February 2021, Priya joined the Army after earning her associate’s degree in science. She successfully completed her MOS 68-C (Licensed Practical Nurse) training and became a combat nurse, serving with dedication since then. As a non-commissioned officer at the rank of Sergeant (E-5), Priya has earned several prestigious awards, including the Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, and Army Good Conduct Medal. Notably, she ranked in the top 20% of her Basic Leadership Course, earning the Commandant’s Award.
Currently deployed to Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas, near the U.S.-Mexico border, Priya is associated with the Troop Medical Command mission that works with William Beaumont Army Medical Center. This mission focuses on the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of incoming and outgoing soldiers. Alongside her military duties, Priya is pursuing a full-time Bachelor of Nursing program, with only one year remaining. Following this, she aims to join the Interservice Physician Assistant Program with the Army to become a PA and a commissioned officer.
